nVent ERIFLEX Distribution Blocks: safer, more organized and compact power distribution in electrical panels

Managing power inside an electrical panel requires reliable components that are easy to wire and able to ensure safety, operational continuity and a well-organized installation. In industrial panels, distribution systems, infrastructure plants and high-density wiring applications, the way power is distributed is not a minor detail: it is a design choice.

The nVent ERIFLEX power distribution blocks are designed to distribute electrical power from one or more inputs to multiple outputs, enabling a more rational management of connections inside the panel. The range includes single-pole, two-pole and four-pole solutions, as well as power distributors, terminals and accessories for DIN rail or panel mounting.

Technology BSA offers nVent ERIFLEX solutions to machine builders, panel builders, integrators and industrial companies looking for compact, certified distribution components suitable for modern electrical panels.

Power distribution blocks: more order, safety and continuity inside the electrical panel

A distribution block makes it possible to organize current distribution in a cleaner and more controlled way compared to multiple direct connections on the main terminals.

The advantage is not only aesthetic, although a well-wired panel always makes a good impression and, above all, avoids the classic “electrical spaghetti western” effect. The real point is technical: less complexity, more readable connections, easier maintenance and greater operational reliability.

nVent ERIFLEX distribution blocks allow you to:

  • distribute power in an orderly way inside the panel;
  • reduce the number of direct connections on the main terminals;
  • simplify wiring and inspection operations;
  • improve connection visibility;
  • optimize the available space;
  • increase safety against accidental contact with live parts.

A wide range for different application needs

The nVent ERIFLEX offering includes several product families designed to meet different electrical configurations. The catalog includes UD series single-pole power distribution blocks, BD and TD series two-pole and four-pole distribution blocks, SB series power distributors, power terminals and mounting accessories.

The available versions cover different rated current levels, input/output configurations and connection methods. Depending on the model, some versions allow connection with one cable, two cables or flat conductor, including nVent ERIFLEX Flexibar and ready-to-use IBS/IBSB Advanced braids.

This modularity makes ERIFLEX distribution blocks suitable for many contexts: distribution panels, industrial automation, infrastructure, data centers, renewable energy systems, railway systems, public environments, marine and offshore applications.

Safety, inspectability and IP20 protection

One of the distinctive elements of the range is its design with a transparent blue cover, developed to allow visual inspection of the connections. This makes it easier to check correct conductor insertion, reducing the risk of errors during wiring or maintenance.

Many models integrate solutions for protection against accidental contact, with IP20 protection rating. The IP20 slider also helps maintain protection even with smaller cross-section conductors, aligning them correctly at the center of the block to optimize both the electrical and mechanical connection.

For those who design and build electrical panels, this means having a component that is easier to install, more readable during inspections and safer during interventions.

Advanced materials: low smoke, halogen-free and self-extinguishing

nVent ERIFLEX distribution blocks use advanced high-strength thermoplastic materials characterized by low smoke emission, halogen-free composition and flame-retardant properties. In the event of fire, these materials help reduce the production of corrosive and toxic fumes, improving visibility and limiting damage to electrical equipment.

The technical documentation also highlights compliance with UL 94 V-0 standards and the glow wire test at 960 °C, features that confirm the self-extinguishing capability of the materials used.

These characteristics are particularly relevant in enclosed or sensitive environments, such as data centers, public infrastructures, hospitals, schools, compact electrical panels and applications where people’s safety and asset protection are a high priority.

Compatibility with copper and aluminum conductors

The nVent ERIFLEX range includes blocks in tinned copper or tinned aluminum, compatible with both copper and aluminum conductors. The suffix AL in the product codes identifies models with a tinned aluminum block.

This flexibility is useful in projects where it is necessary to adapt to different technical specifications, existing installation standards or requirements for economic and design optimization.

Fast installation on DIN rail or panel

ERIFLEX distribution blocks are designed to simplify work inside the panel. Depending on the model, they can be snapped onto a DIN rail or fixed directly to a panel with screws.

The SB series, for example, provides DIN rail mounting with a two-position clip or panel installation. The same range integrates IP20 protection, halogen-free materials, RoHS compliance and the possibility of connecting the conductor with or without a ferrule, with a filling ratio above 95%.

In practical terms: more order, less time spent on wiring and greater standardization of the assembly process. Inside an electrical panel, that is a small silent revolution, and one that is highly appreciated by those who actually have to work on it.

Typical applications

nVent ERIFLEX distribution blocks are used in many industrial and infrastructure applications:

  • electrical distribution panels;
  • industrial automation;
  • machines and production lines;
  • renewable energy systems;
  • data centers;
  • public infrastructure;
  • railway systems;
  • hospitals and schools;
  • marine and offshore applications;
  • compact panels with high wiring density.

For some single-pole versions, the documentation also highlights suitability for solar applications, with models certified for 1000 V AC / 1500 V DC under IEC standards.

Technology BSA technical support

The choice of a distribution block should not be based on rated current alone. It requires an assessment of panel configuration, number of outputs, conductor cross-sections, wiring type, operating voltage, safety requirements, available space and applicable standards.

Technology BSA supports industrial customers, panel builders, OEMs and integrators in selecting the most suitable nVent ERIFLEX components for their projects, providing technical support in choosing the solution that best fits each application requirement.
