Do you know the Allen Bradley 140MP series thermal magnetic circuit breakers? The magnetic short-circuit motor protection devices and thermal overload protection up to 32 A!
These are UL Listed certified devices as manual soft starters. For the entire group, you can use a single line protection device, instead of installing individual components for each motor circuit. The advantages are: less space occupied in the panel, a reduction in installation and wiring times and in costs.
The functions of these magnetothermic circuit breakers are multiple. The 140MP series offers a disconnect function, magnetic (short-circuit) and thermal (overload) protection.
The 140MP circuit breakers meet certain standards such as IEC 60947-4-1 relating to the requirements for motor protection devices and the IEC 60947-2 standard with reference to automatic circuit breakers for applications outside North American countries.

Short circuit protection
This type of protection occurs when the following phenomenon takes place: two conductors with different potentials come into direct contact with each other, causing an extremely high and instantaneous current flow.
In this case the motor protection circuit breaker avoids thermal and mechanical stress due to the high short-circuit current.
Overload protection
The 140MP series can also take action when the current intensity exceeds a predetermined value based on the type of plant system.
Normally the circuit-breaker trips with a desired delay and not instantly. This is because short-term or modest overloads are sorted in a circuit. If the extent of the phenomenon is substantial, the circuit breaker will activate in a short time.
