Simplified motion control for automatic machines, retrofit, and maintenance
In industrial motion control, the real cost is not the motor—it’s complexity. Wiring, separate drives, proprietary software, and commissioning times that spiral out of control. AMCI turns the tables with its Integrated Motor Packages: 3-in-1 solutions that combine motor, drive, and controller in a single unit, designed for machine builders, system integrators, and maintenance teams.
The goal is clear: reduce components, speed up installation, and control the axis directly from the PLC, without additional proprietary tools.

What “Integrated Motor Package” means according to AMCI
An AMCI integrated package brings control directly on the motor. This results in:
- less panel space required,
- less wiring,
- fewer points of failure,
- PLC-based programming (especially in networked versions).
In practice, the axis is managed like any other automation device, using the software you already know.

SMD Series – Integrated stepper motors
What the SMD series is
The SMD series integrates stepper control directly on the motor. It is the natural choice for repetitive motions, precise positioning, and applications where cost-to-performance ratio matters, without giving up advanced industrial features.
Sizes and performance
The range covers a wide spectrum of applications:
- NEMA 17 – 24–48 Vdc, up to 80 oz-in
- NEMA 23 / 24 – 24–48 Vdc, 130–350 oz-in
- NEMA 34 – 24–80 Vdc, 450–1100 oz-in
In short: from compact automation to high-torque axes, without changing the integration philosophy.
Encoders, protection, and networking
-
- Incremental or multi-turn absolute encoders (depending on version)
- Protection ratings: IP50 / IP64 / IP67
- Networked versions with multi-protocol Ethernet:
- EtherNet/IP
- Modbus TCP
- PROFINET
-
- Dual-port support with DLR / MRP
-
- CIP Sync for time synchronization
-
- Safe Torque Off (STO)
An IP67 stainless steel–coated version is also available, designed for harsh environments, washdown applications, oils, and chemical agents.
Where they perform best
Packaging, material handling, labeling, printing, laboratory automation, and retrofitting traditional stepper motor axes.
SV Series – Integrated servo motors
When you need servo performance, without the complexity
The SV series applies the same “all-in-one” concept to the servo world: brushless motor, drive, and control in a single package, with a multi-turn absolute encoder as standard.
Key specifications
-
- 60 mm frame size
- 48–80 Vdc power supply
- Power ratings:
- SV160 – 160 W | 0.5 Nm continuous / 1.3 Nm peak
- SV400 – 400 W | 1.3 Nm continuous / 3.5 Nm peak
True industrial integration
- Integrated networking: EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, PROFINET
- Dual-port Ethernet for daisy-chaining and clean architectures
- Integrated web server for setup and IP configuration
- PLC-based programming, no dedicated software required
- M12 connectors
- STO and advanced synchronization functions (CIP Sync, SynchroMotion)
Ideal for both new machines and retrofit projects where servo performance is required without redesigning the entire architecture.
SMD or SV? Making the right choice
SMD (stepper)
- Repetitive positioning
- Holding torque at standstill
- Excellent cost-to-benefit ratio
- Wide range of sizes
SV (servo)
- True closed-loop control
- Standard absolute encoder
- High dynamics and precision
- Advanced motion control
