If you are looking for a standardized platform that combines mechanics, electronics and software, the Festo Motion Terminal is the right digital pneumatics solution for you!
The features of adaptability and flexibility applied to current production and machinery development processes open new avenues for standardization, flexibility and profitability.
The digital pneumatics technology of this Festo product makes it possible to replace over 50 individual components, and even entire system solutions, from flow control valves to a wide range of directional control valves, proportional regulators, Soft Stop solutions and even pneumatic positioning tasks.
This is the first Festo valve system managed by a single App. Thanks to the innovative valve circuit with integrated sensors, it is possible to talk about digitization of pneumatics. Up to 16 fast analog or digital inputs can be selected on the Festo Motion Terminal for control applications.
The direct integration of the sensors on the actuator with the Festo Motion Terminal enables fast adjustment for these system solutions. The ability of the valve to supply and discharge independently is the prerequisite for being able to perform the most varied functions in a single valve.
The Festo Motion Terminal has:
The CPX bus nodes on the Festo Motion Terminal and the multitude of available I/O modules provide a tried and tested standard for communication in machine and production networks. What's more, you can also use the OPC UA interface on the CPX-CEC to create a service-oriented architecture that is both platform and manufacturer-neutral.
The CTEL master module enables the connection of devices with an I-Port interface (I-Port Devices) to the CPX system. Up to 4 devices can be connected to the latter for each CTEL master module.
In this way, the decentralized layout of the devices is possible. Compact valve terminals and I/O modules with I-Port can be mounted close to the cylinders to be controlled. Short compressed air ducts minimize pressure losses and reduce the times for putting the pipes under pressure and unloading. This makes it possible to use valves with lower flow rates and thus helps to reduce costs.
The assignment of functions is simple and practical. You can do it from the PC or through the machine controls. The standard functions of the directional control valve and the proportional directional control valve can be changed at any time.
Here there are the other valve functions:
The Festo Motion Terminal fully demonstrates its strengths in the areas of pneumatic motion, pressure and flow control regulation.
