Rockwell Automation's new distributed intrinsically safe I/O modules provide Ethernet/IP connectivity to field devices in Zone 0 and Zone 1 hazardous areas.
Allen Bradley 1718 Ex I/O modules simplify device connections in hazardous areas and are ideal for applications in industries such as chemical, food, and oil & gas.
They offer maximum efficiency with compact hardware. The scalable platform offers flexible configuration options from 10-slot chassis to 40-slot chassis to meet various system requirements. To maximize installation space, the main power supply and an optional power supply for redundancy can sit into the chassis.
For the assembly of the Rockwell Automation 1718 Ex I/O modules, an ATEX certified enclosure is required in an Atex Zone 1 area. In order to offer a complete solution, Rockwell Automation decided to collaborate with its partner Encompass Pepperl + Fuchs to provide its customers with certified enclosures for Zone 1.
